Day 212............it has rained all day! This afternoon I sat in the car and used pen on blue paint-washed A3 cartridge paper, a quick view of Ellesmere Marina. Chalk pastels to finish. Difficult with windscreen wipers on!

Day 211.......... A quick hour sketch this evening down by the canal. Bit tired hence the hour. Chalk pastels on blue Ingres paper.

Day 210............. Finished this bright coloured landscape looking towards Ellesmere College at about 8.30pm. Low sunlight setting off the greens in the fields. Replenished my pastel stock today! Chalk pastel on blue Ingres paper.

Day 209........... Just come back from drawing in a pea field near English Frankton! Braving the thunder and windy conditions but rain went around me so kept dry. Had to speed up towards the end as watching storm clouds getting closer. Beautiful when the sun came out. Very much enjoyed this one. Nearly 2 hours. Chalk pastels on blue canford paper.

Day 202 ................back to the Shropshire countryside this afternoon. Put the easel up in a field of growing sweetcorn! Very tranquil and not too hot. Enjoyed doing this......Chalk pastels on brown Ingres paper.

Day 200 ............ back from my London drawing tour! This is the sketch from the British Museum this morning.

Day 199 ....a view incorporating part of the base of the bridge with the Tower of London poking through the trees on the left. Lots of sky.


Day 199..............here is today's sketch using soft pastels on green Ingres paper. I walked from London Bridge station to the Thames, past HMS Belfast and eventually Tower Bridge. Very conscious of not attempting obvious composition so decided on
a view incorporating part of the base of the bridge with the Tower of London poking through the trees on the left. Lots of sky.

In 1616 James I's wife Anne commissioned Inigo Jones to design a new pavilion for her at Greenwich. There ends your history lesson for today! Chalk pastel on Canford paper.

In Cardiff on the day the Lions thrash Australia. A chalk sketch of the Millennium stadium which I prefer to call the Arms Park! Chalk pastel on green Ingres paper.
