Day 227........... Again, pouring with rain. Quite enjoyed this one as got soaked using watercolour pencils on dripping wet paper. Something therapeutic about the whole experience. Colour running all the time. On white but ended up greyish paper!

Day 226 .................pouring with rain but still decided to go out and set up the easel. Used black watercolour pencil on wetted A1 piece of white cartridge paper. Wet purposely and with the rain! The wet paper assists the drawing. Will do this again.

Day 225............. Just spent a lovely hour & half at the easel looking eastwards from Clive. Sun really came out at one point lighting up the barley. Too dark now.....Ink, watercolour pencil and chalk on white A1 cartridge paper.

Day 224 ............Drawing challenge.

Day 224............ Well this was an interesting one. Set up in the corner of a field near Lower Frankton. It said public footpath, so half an hour in and with the heavy clouds forming overhead, I suddenly felt I was not alone, looked over my shoulder and there was a big brown bull and a heard of cows! Cows I can handle........ Never moved so quickly with an easel! Therefore what you see is an unfinished 30 minute A1 sketch on white cartridge paper. Chalk, inks and watercolour pencil.

Day 222 of my drawing challenge

Day 222 ........... Well, after all these chalk pastels on coloured paper, I took a different approach tonight. Large A1 white cartridge paper, washes of ink, drawing with watercolour pencils (drawing is darker when paper is wet), then added patches of coloured chalk. Enjoyed this one but the evenings are certainly starting to draw in as getting much darker now. Manic farmers around trying to get the combining done!

Day 220.......... Just got back from sketching near Lyneal. Barley field to the left and sweet corn to the right. Sun was even setting for me! All I needed when I finished was a glass of red and a comfy chair! Chalk pastels on royal blue Ingres paper.
